Business With Beauty
The Ms./Mrs. Corporate America Pageant, perhaps partly inspired by reality TV, offers a new genre of pageantry intending to celebrate the professional achievements of women. Although unique in its concept, the pageant will include an evening gown competition, athletic wear component, and interview with the judges. “I was flattered by the invitation to apply, and pleasantly
shocked when accepted.” Nelson was selected as one of 20 contestants
from all over America. “I thought my age might disqualify me,” said
Nelson, commenting about her selection. In addition to improving fitness, beauty, and interviewing
skills, Nelson sees the Pageant as an opportunity to showcase her recent
patent pending dating ID system, known as The
Dating Passport (www.thedatingpassport.com); and the After School
University (a non-profit organization to be headquartered in Santa
Barbara)—two enterprises she has recently founded. Ms. Nelson’s long time business,
The AdStuff Company (www.theadstuffcompany.com); her promotional
marketing company of 12 years, funded the graduation of her daughter
from Brooks Institute of Photography. Nelson has a passion for teaching
the art of self-employment, and coached her daughter Jamie Nelson
through her first two years of business, as a fashion Photographer, in
NYC. Jamie
Nelson’s work (www.jamienelson.com)
appeared in the October issue of Vogue magazine, Elle, 805, and
numerous international magazines. Deborah also gives self-employment
coaching in the promotional industry for business owners getting
started. With
true entrepreneurial spirit Ms Nelson says, “I intend to share this
adventure with the Santa Barbara business community. We invite all
aspiring women to train and beautify with us, as I prepare to receive
the National title of Ms. Corporate America for Santa Barbara. Join us,
network, showcase your talents, drive yourself to a higher level of
excellence!” With Nelson’s definition of “beauty as excellence,”
she invites entrepreneurs to host “Mixing Business with Beauty”
Events, featuring businesses and services that beautify Santa Barbara
women in every way. She will be there…mixing
business with beauty. “We intend to support and send Santa Barbara candidates for both Ms. and Mrs. Corporate America for years to come,” commented Karen Renee Dickson, PR Agent for Deborah Nelson. “Join our management team to showcase your business, beautify yourself, and support Santa Barbara’s Ms. Corporate America candidate. We welcome all those inspired to enhance professional women and women entrepreneurs!” You may contact the group at www.MsCASantaBarbara.com, info@MsCorporateAmericaSantaBarbara.com.
